Again in 2023 it will be possible to be part of this wonderful opportunity:

from July 16th to 21st 2023

The main emphasis will be on Monteverdis 5th Book of Madrigals and his contemporaries. The course will finish with a concert.

The Monteverdi Madrigal Week is aimed at experienced and also professional (choir) singers, choral singers, soloists and continuo players, who would like to spend a week studying representative works of Monteverdi and his contemporaries in the unique atmosphere of Venice.

'The week was simply wonderful! Great teachers, beautiful music, picturesque location ... couldn’t have been better. A great experience! I highly recommend this course to others!' (Katrin Koberling, Berlin)

There will be a final concert at Friday, 26th July 20:00 in Chiesa Sant' Agnese.

Course fee 480 €, students 380€ - accommodation not included - it must be organized by the participants themselves.

'It was a wonderful week, and if everything works out, I’ll be back next year. What a great idea to sing Monteverdi’s music in the city where it was born. I was thrilled about your workshop.' (Dagmar Ziegner, Königswinter)

Location of the course:

Istituto Cavanis Venezia

Dorsoduro 898
Rio Terà Foscarini
30123 - Venezia

'It is a lot of fun to work with you on the madrigals! You are a great team and you transfer your enthusiasm to the group. The Madrigal Week is a great experience - a wonderful interplay of the unique atmosphere of Venice, the great music of Monteverdi and the good mood of the group during the rehearsals - and also outside the rehearsals.' (Britta Heiermann, Rommerskirchen)
